I would like to close by staying that Canadian Tire's experience reinforces for me that two opportunities ought to be pursued: first, balancing the flow of products through ports on both the East and West Coasts; and, second, achieving additional throughput capacity, productivity and environmental benefits by synchronizing terminal, railway, off-dock yards and trucking operations.
En terminant, je voudrais dire que l'expérience de Canadian Tire confirme à mes yeux qu'il faut s'efforcer d'atteindre deux objectifs: premièrement, mettre en équilibre l'acheminement des produits par les ports des côtes est et ouest; et deuxièmement, obtenir une amélioration de la capacité, de la productivité et des avantages environnementaux en synchronisant les opérations des terminaux, des chemins de fer, des cours de triage et de camionnage.
