The WTO is struggling with how to come to grips with the things they know and have developed over the years and that work in terms of trade issues and with the global agenda on social and environmental issues, where the interests are quite different and where there is no parallel mechanism that has the same kind of enforcement capability.

I think fundamentally that's exactly right, and if we do not come to grips with the fact that we are dealing with a propaganda campaign that is unparalleled in the twentieth century—the latter half.I won't say the twentieth century, because there was certainly a very good, parallel campaign run in the 1920s and 1930s that resulted in a democratically elected government going on to behave in an abhorrent manner.

Je pense que c'est tout à fait cela, et si nous ne tenons pas compte du fait que nous nous attaquons à une campagne de propagande qui n'a pas d'équivalent au XX siècle — la seconde moitié.Je ne dirais pas au XX siècle, parce qu'il y a certainement eu d'excellentes campagnes parallèles au cours des années 1920 et 1930 qui ont amené des gouvernements élus démocratiquement à faire des choses particulièrement horribles.
