This particular model was developed specifically for athletes with a physical or motor disability — and there is an equivalent one for athletes with an intellectual disability — to try to look at ways of dealing with the entire system, from the grassroots to high performance and, once an athlete retires, to keep them in the system as a coach, volunteer or leader so they can continue to contribute.
