It's very clear that self-defence is not applied to resisting a lawful arrest, that it's duplicitous and may, by accident, inject the need for an accused to prove his or her subjective belief when defending against unlawful arrest and/or search.

Au cours des premières consultations au sujet de l’arrestation par un simple citoyen, nous avons parlé du fait que, lorsqu’une personne résiste à l’arrestation par un citoyen parce qu’elle ne sait pas que le citoyen a le pouvoir de l’arrêter, ou qu’elle le fait délibérément, cela pourrait déboucher sur une situation de légitime défense si cette personne commet des voies de fait sur le citoyen qui essaie de l’arrêter.

In the early consultations on citizen's arrest we were discussing the fact that if a person resists a citizen's arrest because they do not realize that the citizen has any power to arrest them, or they do so deliberately, it could escalate into a situation of self-defence if they assault the person who is seeking to arrest them.
