Madame la Présidente, je suis heureux de présenter aujourd'hui une pétition au nom de mes électeurs des collectivités de Port Hope, Simpson, Norman Bay, Red Bay, Charlottetown, St. Lewis, Goose Bay et Pensons Arm qui demandent qu'une approche reposant sur le bon sens soit adoptée en ce qui concerne l'assurance-emploi, et ce, en prolongeant la période de prestations et en rétablissant les cinq semaines de prestation supplémentaires dans les régions où le taux de chômage est élevé.

En fait, toutes les épaves sur lesquelles nous avons travaillé au Canada, celles auxquelles Parcs Canada ou d'autres ont travaillé, Le Chameau, qui a été exploré par un particulier, le San Juan à Red Bay, les épaves qui se trouvent à Bay Bulls ou celles de la Miramichi, toutes ces épaves se trouvent à quelques centaines de mètres, au maximum un kilomètre de la côte.

Lorsque j'ai plaidé pour cette route avec Terre-Neuve, elle était censée partir de Red Bay, aller à St-Augustin sur la côte nord québécoise pour ensuite passer à Churchill Falls et remonter jusqu'à Goose Bay et à d'autres localités.

When I pled for that road with Newfoundland, the road was supposed to leave from Red Bay, go to St-Augustin on the Quebec north shore into Churchill Falls and then up to Goose Bay and those places.
